"The Mt. Horeb vs Dodge-Point meet was a good event to see some of our athletes compete outside their comfort zone. And to be successful in any sport, you sometimes have to do that," said Dodge-Point coach Joe Hanson."We thought the athletes responded very well to what we asked of them It's still early in the season and we choose not to worry about winning or losing a competition based on what events we put in athletes in. With so many young athletes out, we are still trying to find out what would be their best event and where they might be able to help the team. Track and Field may be unique in that aspect."
He added about a few of his athletes, "A couple good results were Molly Hanson in the 1600 with a time of 5:08, good enough for 4th on the D2 honor roll. Payton Hanson defeated the top D2 sprinter, Matt Fargo from Mt. Horeb, in the 100M with a very fast 11:09 (Hand timed). Overall, we were very happy with the kids and their results."
