Along The Ad Routes

I messed up some things about the ribbon cutting a little for the new American Family agent last week. Patti Blabaum, ERA Arthur Real Estate, sent me this note:
Was just reading the Chronicle and see that the info that Mikey put in about Carrie's ribbon cutting is a little confused.....he has her new address as 105 N Iowa and it's 201 N Iowa, he has Terry Fischer as Chamber President and it's Tyler Kenniker (Mounds City Bank).

I guess I learned to not trust "Google" when it comes to finding the correct address. I hit the search engine for ERA Arthur Real Estate since they have been in their current location for a couple of years. That's where the wrong address popped up. I guess i should've used the "old way" - the telephone book!

I get a call quite often from cousin Jeanette (Atlanta) when she's driving home from either her daughter or son's place after spending the day with her "grandbabies". She is usually worn out pretty good on that trip home after being on the go all day. I guess talking with me keeps her awake. When I talked about just that, a couple of my "buddies" said they would've thought that talking with me would put her to sleep!

It's Jeanette's husband (Jack - originally from Darlington) who loves to read our 150th page. He highlights stuff that he thinks Jeanette would get a kick out of! I hear from people every week about how much they like that page and several are cutting out each one of them and saving them - and they aren't the "older" people!

A lot of the area schools are on spring break this week - it's Easter week. The weather has still been really something with temperatures in the 70s again Sunday and Monday and in the mid to upper 50s the rest of the week. I can remember Easter weeks when I've worn my "winter" clothes!

We received a couple of notes in renewal notices for the Chronicle last week. Eugene and Melva Lindauer (Green Bay) said "We very much enjoy the Chronicle - nice to keep up with people!" Amos and Verna Moen (Mount Horeb) say "Time to renew our favorite weekly paper. The paper had been in our household for over 80 years or as long as I remember. I especially enjoy your 150 year gleamings lately. My husband and I are 90 and 95 years old and getting the Chronicle each week is a highlight. Keep up the good work"
Now, if Verna is 90 and wrote theat letter longhand herself, she's really doing well. That was the best penmanship I've seen in quite some time!

There is going to be an "Energy Fair" at the Iowa County Health & Human Services Building (the new building where the Dodgeville Middle School used to be located) the morning of April 14. That's definitely something to check out in this age of "we need to conserve"!
