This Friday night will be both Dodgeville's and Iowa-Grant's homecoming celebrations. Both hold parades and excellent halftime ceremonies. This year, at Dodgeville, several former athletes will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at halftime with a reception following the game at the Dodger Bowl.

Last Sunday it was pretty wet for the annual Dodgeville Area Scholarship Fund's golf outing at Dodge Point Country Club, but over 30 teams made it and the event came off with everyone having a great time!

The Dodgeville Knights Home Talent baseball team couldn't quite get 'er done Sunday in trying to win the Home Talent League Championship. They did come in as runners-up and claimed the Western Section Tournament title - something they can be very proud of!

The Milwaukee Brewers are inching closer and closer to their first National League division championship. Maybe by the time you read this, they may have done it! Boy, Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder are sure having MVP type seasons. It's too bad that Fielder has to "take the money and run" and will probably be playing for another team next year - but I guess money talks! My only question is "how much money is enough"?

I didn't get to see any of the Green Bay Packers game against Carolina Sunday, but it must've been a "humdinger". It's a good thing the Packers have Aaron Rodgers and a great receiving corps - that and a stingy defense when needed got the job done!

This coming Sunday is the annual Oktoberfest in Highland. If you like the German effect and a lot of pumpkins - that's the place to be!

Also on Saturday is the Dodgeville Knights Golf Outing at Deer Valley. It's not too late to show your support for the team and make the short jaunt to Deer Valley!

Also on Sunday is the Waldwick Community Church's Open House following the morning service.
