Speaking of baseball, the Dodgeville Knights Home Talent team let the league "Sunday" championship slip away from them last Sunday when they lost at Cross Plains 6-2. They still have another shot at the title, however, as they fell to 2-1 in the round robin Final 4 challenge and Cross Plains went to 2-1. The two teams play here (at Centennial Park) this coming Sunday at 1:00 for the league championship. There was good crowd support at Cross Plains, so there should be even more people here. there will be a full concession sand going at the game!

Sunday is also the Dodgeville Area Scholarship Fund (DASFI) annual golf outing at Dodge Point Country Club. There will be a lot of graduates attending and with the ball game going on, I don't think I'll be able to get there. That too will pain me as I really enjoy seeing those people - many I only get to see at that event. It's not too late to put a team into the event or just stop out and say hi to people "out of your past"!

I have to admit I almost really blew it driving last week. I was gong to Country Kitchen and had a lot on my mind. I turned into Country Kitchen and almost nailed a vehicle that was heading south. I just plain didn't see it and it was almost CRASH!

This Friday is Mineral Point's homecoming and Friday, September 30th is both Dodgeville's and Iowa-Grant's. That will make those two Fridays pretty busy on the highways. Dodgeville has its 2nd Annual Hall of Fame induction going on at halftime with a reception following at Dodger Bowl.

Last week one of the things that pains me the most took place when I had to take a check into my late buddy's place - that "Not So" Quality Bakery! I must admit that I broke down and purchased some of their product for the concession stand over the summer. I hate to say it, but the people know when I get buns from someplace else!
