Dodgers win first time in three seasons
After three years with a zero in the win column in conference volleyball play the Dodgers have finally replaced that with a one. They did it after winning the first two games, losing the third and fourth then winning the match with a 15-9 decision over Prairie du Chien.
The win avenged an earlier loss this season to the Blackhawks in SWC action.
The Dodgers won the first two 25-19, 25-16 then lost the next two 29-27 and 25-21. That set up the finale which ended in Dodgeville's favor.
"Tonight we did the things it took to win," said first year head coach Tricia Olson. "We came out strong and showed Prairie du Chien we are not the team they beat before, we are better."
Olson said there were a few bumps in the road before they got the win.
"Set three was extremely exciting for us," she said. "There was a comeback by us, but in the end, Prairie won that set and set four. However, in the end, set five, the determining factor was won by Dodgeville."
"Tonight, was a big night," Olson said. "And we hope for bigger nights to come. I was excited, the assistant coaches were excited, and the girls were excited. We did everything possible to prepare ourselves to get a conference win tonight, and when it came down to the end, we were the ones who were victorious. Every member of our team contributed something tonight to let us get the win."
