D-P track & field athletes move to sectional

As a team, the boys finished a distant second behind Platteville 192-103. The rest of the team scores were: Wisconsin Heights 93, River Valley 85, Prairie du Chien 81, Boscobel 52, Lancaster 51, Richland Center 35.
Payton Hanson won the 100 in 11:18 and Brett Hottmann edged teammate Trevor Wunnicke 10:03.66 to 10:03.77 to win the 3200. TC Smith took the 300 hurdles in 41.17.
The 4x200 relay team of Smith, Austyn Whitlatch, Mark Schmitz and Payton Hanson won in 1:33.81 and the 4x800 team of Joseph Lawinger, Hottmann, Wunnicke and Schmitz won in 8:30.99.
The rest of Dodge-Point's finishes were: 100-Shane Kieffer 9th 12.23, Cody Arn 19th 13.31; 200-Taylor Fingerson 16th 29.17; 400-T.J. Platteville also took the girls meet with 122 points to Lancaster's 103 with Dodge-Point taking third at 94.
Other team totals were: Boscobel 88, River Valley 85, Prairie du Chien 80, Wisconsin Heights 64, Richland Center 51.
Dodge-Point won two relays with the 4x400 team of Molly Hanson, Rachel Pope, Mairin Cahill and Macy McConnell winning in 4:13.36 and the 4x800 team of Cahill, McConnell, Abby Philipps and Hanson winning in 9:47.72. Both teams just edged out runner-up Platteville.
They took places 2-3-4 in the 3200 with Shelby Owens beating Philipps 11:49.9 to 11:54.48 with Anna Eisenzimmer in third at 12:14.33.

"We had an outstanding night at Valley. The entire coaching staff came home pleased with the athletes' results. All those who participated gave a tremendous effort, fortunately we had many athletes make it through to the Sectional. To those athletes not moving on, we want to thank all of them and their parents for the support they have giving this season," said Dodge-Point coach Joe Hanson.
