Prochaska 3 hits Platteville in Dodger softball win
She started shakey in the first as with one out, both Brittany Edge and Katie Klar singled. They both came home on an infield error.
Affter that, she allowed just twoother base runners, one in the fifth on an error and a lead off single in the seventh.
Prochaska fanned four and didn't walk a batter.
The Dodgers got their first run in the first as Abby Prochaska led off with a double and one out later she came home on a two bagger by Sierra Oleson.
They took the lead for good in hte third as Shelby Hill led off with a one baser and Abby Prochaska followed up with a safety. hey advanced on Jess Reamon's grounder and both scored on Oleson's single.
Three insurance runs were plated in the fifth. Oleson led off with a triple with pinch hitter Alicia Dale singling her home. Becca Veinberg coaxed a walk with both runners moving up on Steph Dalsing's ground out. Dale scored on Delaney Orr's grounder to the pitcher.
Abby Prochaska was perfect at the plate going 3x3. Oleson was 3x4 on the day with Brooke Lee 2x3 and Dale, Dalsing and Hill each had one hit.
Platteville hurler Megan Schlueter struck out four, walked three and gave up six earned runs n 11 hits.
"All round we played a very good game," said Dodger coach Gene Van Dyck. "Carley threw her best game of the year with her drop working and locating her fast ball. The 2 runs in the first inning were unearned resulting form a misplayed infield hit and an error. Carley then only gave up one single the rest of the game as well as walking none."
"Defensively we played very well with our outfield making a couple of real nice catches and Brooke Lee having a very good game as SS. Sierra Oleson and Abby Prochaska both not only had multiple hit game but hit the ball extremely hard every at bat."
"It was nice to finally get to play during a nice day," said Pointer coach Quinn Schultz. "We put the ball in play all day and capitilized on a few mistakes made by Dodgeville."
