Knights tame Mustangs


The Dodgeville Knights got in some work in a competitive setting Tuesday when they beat the Mazomanie Mustangs 12-2 in an exhibition game.
The Knights slammed out 12 hits in garnering the win. Travis Elvert was 3x4 with a double. Gary James and Chris Clerkin were both 2x2. Ryan Reilly was 2x3. Tony DeMuth, Kyle Nelson and Jay Lindner all had one hit.
Nelson got the win with three innings of work. He struck out seven and did not allow a hit, walk or run.
Bill Hellman worked two innings. He struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits and two runs, one earned.
Mark Ludwig finished. He struck out one.
