"They put is what was pretty muchthe #1 bracket," said Pointer coach Scott Schmitz. "I thought we wrestled well. We competed and battled hard as individuals on the mat. All but two of our guys won a match of some type and Deven Walrack and Cody Bertram both went unbeaten. Todd Tibbits. Robby Chubb, Brenyn Schmit and Brian Steffes each had a good day."
"I think it was a eye opener for some of our freshmen as to the type of competition we face. Each guy will get better because of this tournament. We came away with a lot of valuable experience. We could face Spring Valley in the team tournament down the road."
The Pointers travel to Iowa-Grant Friday night in a match that should decide the SWAL team championship.
"Hopefully Friday night we won't make some of the silly mistakes we made Saturday," Schmitz concluded.
