Along The Ad Routes
Here's Santa talking with Addison and Caleb about the Christmas decorations at the center.

If anyone out there remembers Sally Beers--the wildlife rehab person Jeanie Lewis used to write about that went home to England. She lived in Mineral Point. Jeanie received a call from her recently. She calls occasionally and always ask about everyone...seemed a bit lonely today for her friends in Wisconsin. She is an activity director at a nursing home now. Jeanie says she's sure the residents love her. Just listening to her would cheer them. Jeanie said, "When I told her that she laughed and admitted that they seemed to." She had been doing home cares but the amount of driving and her back took its toll, so this is much easier. She did say she misses her people she had taken care of so perhaps that too was the loneliness I heard in her voice.

A while back I received a note from Ron Dentinger - the guy who is very "funny" and who entertains all over the U.S. and also writes books! He said: "A friend and I are putting this together - "The American Society of Crotchety Old Men". It should be up-and-running soon. Take a look at it as it stands now => http://crotchetyoldmen.com/
A gift membership might be the perfect....Birthday, Christmas, etc.....gift for someone you know.
A $20 membership would include an official membership certificate and 2 dozen. membership cards."

With this issue of the Chronicle, there are only 10 more days until Christmas. Boy where has the year gone? I really don't mind them going by, but do they have to go by so fast? With every year I see come in, that means I'm still around!

You know people must be in the Christmas spirit because I haven't had to scold anyone for not stopping for me in the crosswalk this week! But, at the same time, I haven't seen the out of state license plates when I have been crossing!

To me, it seems there are more Christmas lights out there. Maybe that means the economy is on the upswing?

I made the trek to Platteville Sunday to meet my cousin Rose for dinner at Fiesta Cancun. It was well worth the trip, even though I'm pretty much a homebody when it comes to going out to eat!
