Also, with Easter comes the end of the Lenten season. That means i can go back to eating sweets, desserts, candy and all of that good stuff that "isn't good for you"! But you only live once, so you might as well be happy with what you eat!

I was driving back from Madison the other day after taking a camera in for repair and I noticed something. There are a lot of advertising signs along the highway. I know, that's something I should've noticed before. But, what I was thinking is that our state/federal governments are both in disarray as far as its finances. Anyway, I saw a bunch (and I do mean bunch) of state signs out there that show exits, historical or tourist stops, crossing roadways and a whole lot more. Those signs are also on the other side of the road and are viewed by people heading that way. There are billboards that companies make good money off of and there are billboard-type signs that private retailers/individuals put up for advertising. Those are all on private property and the companies/individuals probably rent the land they're placed on. So, as a money maker for the state/federal governments why don't they rent the back sides of those signs to someone? They are just blank on the back side as I noticed both in my rear view mirror and on the other side of the road. There probably are millions of those signs all over the United States. That could mean a pretty good hunk of change for the state/federal governments. There probably is a law out there that prevents them from doing that and it would infringe on private enterprise. Oh well, it was just a thought and it could really help out the governments - and that means your and my taxes!

I made a stop at the Dodgeville Middle School 7th Grade Stores event the other evening. I was told the crowd at it was pretty steady all day and the gymnasium was pretty full for each of the three shifts. The Stores event gives the youngsters the chance to experience retail whether it be in a restaurant, gift shop, toy store, game place or whatever the youngsters choose or are assigned to. They even make advertising posters in the gym and around their store - some had signs they carried or wore around the gym advertising their place of business.

Boy, we surely did get the snow coming down Saturday morning. I was at The Red Room eating breakfast at about 7:30 and it started around the 8:00 hour. There was some accumulation, so there goes all the predictors' statements that the snowfalls had ended! And this week I hear it is supposed to rain six out of the seven days Monday through Sunday!

I was crossing the main street of Dodgeville the other day like I do many, many times during a day, week, month, year. To my dismay I stepped out into the crosswalk and three consecutive WISCONSIN license vehicles failed to stop for me to cross. I checked out their license to make sure I was correct in what state they displayed. My only thought is that they must've been from near the borders of either IOWA or ILLINOIS!
