Mark and Kathleen Schaaf of Mineral Point are happy to announce the engagement of their son, Michael Schaaf of Belmont to Crystal Higgins of Medford, daughter of Red and Lisa Higgins of Medford, and Steven and Luanne Fliehs of Medford.
The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Medford Area Senior High.  She earned a degree as a IPP aggregiate technician from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. She is a laborer/gravel tester at James Peterson and Sons in Medford.
The groom-to-be is 2001 graduate of Mineral Point High School.  He is a foreman at Harold James and Sons in Fennimore.
A December 2011 wedding is planned.
