All Opinions are Welcome

By Todd D. Novak-tnovak@thedodgevillechronicle.com

As you can tell by the letters to the editor section the last few weeks, the upcoming election has engaged people. We have been overwhelmed with letters from our readers on candidates, issues and the general condition of the state and country.  In a normal election cycle we always receive an abundance of letters, but nothing to the level we've received this year.

Someone recently asked why we published all these letters to the editor regarding the upcoming election. The answer is simple. We value your freedom of speech, so even if we don't agree with you, we appreciate your opinion and value your opinion. Many people have thanked us for allowing this outlet to express their views.

We are very fortunate to cover an area where the people are very involved and care. It might be an issue at the local level  all the way to the national level and our readers have no qualms about writing a letter to express their views.

Iowa County is one of the top counties in the state for voter turnout in all elections. We hope this newspaper is part of the reason for that.

Enjoy the opinions of your neighbors this week. In accordance with our policy this will be the last week we will run letters that have to do with the November 2nd General Election.
