A Couple of Thoughts
By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com
I am afraid now that the election is over I will become a very lonely man. My mailbox will again be empty most of the time when I check it because those expensive looking election flyers I have been getting on a daily basis will no longer arrive.
It is nice to have mail, but for some reason I have found it hard to read...not because of the size of the type, but because of the negativism that each pamphlet contains.
If I didn't believe so hard that it is many have died so that we may remain free I might be so angry at the negativism that I may not vote.
But, I will, or by the time you read this, did cast my vote because it is the right thing to do.
The second thing also involves mail. A bank I have used sent me a letter informing me they are cancelling a line of credit I have with them because....get this....I haven't used it for a year.
I guess I was wrong. I thought a line of credit was there to be used if necessary. If I don't have to use it, why use it?
The letter closed by saying if I have used the account before the letter got to me, then I would be able to keep it for another year.
I am not even going to answer that letter.
What could I say to make sense out of that?
