Not all the time, please
By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com
Maybe I did. And maybe it got deleted along with the advertisements for viagra, shoes, bras, insurance, bogus college degrees and the tons of other things that get sent to my email everyday.
Maybe it even got sandwiched between a couple of can't miss business proposals where all I have to do is give my personal information to a deposed dictator or a relative or attorney of someone who has died and left money that needs to be gotten out of a foreign country some way.
Or maybe you just didn't send it.
I guess I really don't know.
Is it getting to be too much email and not enough personal contact? I really don't mind getting phone calls, no matter what time of the day or night. If it is important, feel free to call.
I even do not mind getting letters. I have trouble remembering the last letter I received --I think it was two years ago--that actually came from someone just wanting to stay in touch. It would be nice if once in awhile a letter would find its way between those bills.
I don't mind friends stopping in to say hi either. If I am too busy I will tell you but with 24 hours in a day I am sure I can find some time for you.
It is OK to send me an email once in awhile. I know you are busy and sometimes the day gets too long. So, an email while you are wrapping things up is fine.
But please, don't do that all the time. Let your fingers do the walking over the phone numbers instead of the computer keys.
Or better yet, stop in and say hello.
