Kari Lee Phelan and Carlos Villa-Rivera were united in marriage on June 5th. The private, outdoor ceremony took place at Gibbs Pond in Exeter Township.

Kari is the daughter of Mike and Lori Phelan of Ridgeway and Carlos is the son of Sabina Villa-Rivera and Enrique Hernandez of Kiel. Kari is the granddaughter of Carl and Eva Mullendore of Belleville and the late Bill and Karen Dougherty of Ridgeway.

The couple left on June 20th for a year tour with the Wisconsin Army National Guard. They are planning a public ceremony in 2011, after their return.
