Hendricks, Nancy L.
"When I Come to the End of the Road and the Sun has set for me, I Want no Nights in a Gloom Filled Room - Why Cry for a Soul Set Free?"
Former Mineral Point resident, Nancy L. Hendricks, passed from this earth on October 21, 2019, in Chesapeake, VA, the home of her daughter, Sarah.
Born July 2, 1935, she grew up in Mineral Point. She was the youngest daughter of Howard and Ruth (Nancolas) Tyrer. Nancy and her former husband, Douglas Bennett, raised five children on their family farm.
She married Paul Hendricks in 1973. They were best friends and true partners in life until his death in January of 2011. Their time at their fishing lake in Kentucky, raising their daughter Sarah, was one of her most cherished memories.
She worked hard. She lived life to the fullest with unfaltering humor. Her sense of volunteerism was strong. Her faith stalwart and her friendships true. She possessed a sharp mind and wit. From her cancer diagnosis in August until her death, she taught us the true definition of gallantry , courage, and determination, always without complaint.
She is survived by her six children, Mark (Gail) Bennett, Waunakee, Laurie (Larry) Wallace, Mineral Point, Jeff (Beth) Bennett, Mineral Point, Clark (Jodi) Bennett, Myrtle Beach, SC, Steve (Tammy) Bennett, Moncks Corner, SC and Sarah (Clay) Hendricks, Chesapeake, VA. She was further survived by her sister, Margaret Pardun, Eau Claire. She was proud of her 15 grandchildren, along with 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was blessed by her life-long friendship with Mary Alice and looked forward to her time with "the girls" on her visits back to Mineral Point.
Per her request there will be no services.
