He is survived by a son: Philip (Missy) Jinkins of Livingston, a daughter: Michelle Jinkins of Wauwatosa, two grandchildren: Gavin Jinkins of Platteville, Paige Jinkins of Verona, two brothers: John "Jack" (Donna) Jinkins of Dodgeville, Mark (Ann) Jinkins of Sturgeon Bay WI., a sister: Mary (Ron) Kunzelman of Colorado Springs Co. as well as many close friends and nieces and nephews.

Tom "Tommy J" graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1967. After his father passed, he helped his mother run the family farm. In 1969, Tom then married Siri Zimmerman and had their two children. In his younger years, Tom was a member of the Iowa-Grant school board. He then went into construction with his son in 1993 to form Rock Church Construction in which he mentored his son, Phil. He was especially proud of restoring state historical sites. After retiring, Tom was usually tinkering and had several projects going on at once. He was on the Mifflin Cemetery board. He had the ability to make you feel special with his words. Tom was always quick with a witty comment or to tell a joke, although not always fast, as his stories would turn into other memories to be told. Tommy J enjoyed spending time at Alley Oops Bar in Livingston and having coffee and playing cards with friends. Tom was a very social person who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He was appreciative to have been called Papa Tom by Jalen and Karstyn, whom he considered grandkids as well. Tom was always held in high regards by his nieces and nephews for the time they spent with him.
