Laufenberg, Sharon Ann

Sharon Ann Laufenberg, age 80 of Highland, WI passed away on Wednesday, August 21 at CrestRidge Assisted Living in Dodgeville, WI following a stroke in March.
Sharon was born on April 29, 1939 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Ralph and Josephine Tucker. She graduated from Cobb High School in 1957, and as a teacher from Wisconsin State College and Institute of Technology in 1961. She was united in marriage on August 13, 1960 to the love of her life, Richard Laufenberg from Highland. They lived in the village of Highland for seven years before moving to the Tucker family farm where they farmed for many years. In 2011 they moved back into the village of Highland where they have been ever since. Together they raised six children and followed them in all of their activities and sports throughout their high school and college years.
Sharon was a very quiet person who loved children, and after raising her children she became a teacher's aide in the Highland Elementary School District in 1987. She worked there for 17 years helping kids with reading, math and social skills. She was well known as an avid reader and had many children's books at her home for her grandchildren to enjoy. She was creative and helped teachers with their bulletin board displays, which she enjoyed very much. Sharon also loved swans and has a vast collection at home. She enjoyed walking in town every day and would stop to visit with people along the way.
The last few years she enjoyed having the younger grandchildren, Mason and Jaxon by her side, as well as her great grandson, Oliver. She would light up when in their presence or seeing pictures of baby Margot. Her greatest joy was time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Steve on October 25, 2017, her parents, and her older brother, Tom Tucker.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Richard of Highland; five children, Kevin of Olive Branch, Mississippi and his daughters: Loghan, Talyn and Karsyn; Allen (Lori) of Highland and their children: Adam, Andrew and Amy (son Oliver); Steve's kids: Cashton (Trisha), Milo, Isaiah and Owen; Mark (Jane) of Highland and their children: Dustin (Steven & baby Margot), Dalton (Kacper) and Janel; Lisa (Paul) Soward of LaGrande, Oregon and children: Brandon, Clancy and Erin; and Scott (Cherry) of Mt. Horeb and their sons: Mason and Jaxon. She is also survived by her younger brother Don (Linda) Tucker of Dodgeville, as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
