Mary Rink left this life on her final journey on Friday, March 15, following a massive stroke at the age of 86.
She was life-long resident of Mineral Point and a member of St. Mary's church where she received all her sacraments from her baptism to her death.
She was married to Bill Rink for 42 years and were blessed with five "A #1" children: Shelley (Keith Miescher), Andy Rink, Tracey Rink, Denise (Ron) Lovell and Marty (Lastina) Rink. 5 grandchildren followed: Missy (Nate McKittrick), Kimmie (Paul Koch), Lexi, Lea and Ben Lovell, then three great grandchildren: Clara, Hazel, and Leo McKittrick.
Her career highlights include starting as a Clerk-Stenographer for the federal government in 1952, with FBI security clearance and ended with her retirement from Lands' End after 25 years.
Throughout her life, she made and enjoyed many friends and had the gift to let people know how much they meant to her. As a result, she had many different groups of friends with whom she enjoyed love and laughter.
Her love of travel lead her to many adventures. She is now on her final journey and the best vacation of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Ss. Mary & Paul's Catholic Church in Mineral Point. Fr. Michael Tarigopula will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church followed by a church luncheon and by an Irish Toast at Tony's Tap.
The family would like to thank the members of St Mary's who assisted our mother during the emergency situation, the EMTs, the staff at Upland Hills Hospital for their excellent care and to Gorgen Funeral Home in assisting us with her final journey.
