Fischer, Herman Kurt

On December 10, 2018, Herman Kurt Fischer entered Eternal Glory peacefully from his home with his family by his side. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 20, 1934, the second of 10 children of Kurt and Lydia (Kiesel) Fischer.
Herman graduated from Lane Technical High School in 1952, went on to Tech School, completing his apprenticeship in Tool and Die Making in 1957. In 1957, he also married Reginia Jagst. They lived and raised their three children in Mount Prospect/Arlington Heights, IL where Herman established his own very successful Tool and Die Manufacturing business.
Herman and Regina moved to Dodgeville, Clyde Township in 1992. In their retirement years, they enjoyed motor-homing and camping in many beautiful areas of our country and visiting with family and friends. Herman also picked up his trumpet again and became part of the Barneveld, Mineral Point and Potosi Community Bands. His involvement and close friendships with the people in these bands brought him much joy. He also cherished being part of the Standard PM Church family and the Clyde Township community. He dearly loved and cared for his family and treasured all the times spent with them, especially with his grandchildren.
Herman is survived by his wife, Regina; their children, Terry (Steve) O'Day; Heidi Rodgers and Jim (Sarah Goettsch) Fischer; grandchildren, Tayler and Alexis Rodgers and Paul, Tess and Kate O'Day along with six siblings and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a son-in-law, Keith Rodgers,
