Gloria Elaine Humbert, age 97, of Dodgeville, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Gloria was born on December 19, 1925 in Racine, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Preston and Mollie (Peterson) Arthur. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1944.
On September 8, 1945, Gloria married Donald F. "Baldy" Humbert in Freeport, IL. She worked for John I. Hahn Co., GTE, Dodgeville Florist with her friend Donna Jewell and part-time at Lands' End. She was a member of the Dodgeville Homemaker's Club and enjoyed woodworking, crafts, sewing, knitting, gardening, camping and especially her grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by her children Marcia DiSalvo, Christine (Bruce) Harrison and Arthur (Margaret) Humbert; her 10 grandchildren Michelle (Duane) Gullickson, Christopher (Tami) Chappell, Scott (Donna) Chappell, Eric (Staci) Chappell, Anthony (Esther) Harrison, Todd (Julie) Harrison, Jacqueline Harrison, Leslie (Greg) Scheckel, Lisa (Tim) Budworth and Mitchell Humbert; 22 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald "Baldy", her parents and her sister Lois (Ted) Van Epps.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Pastor Jim Droste will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Saturday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Upland Hills Hospice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Upland Hills Hospice and a special thanks to Ashley Olson for her loving care of mom.
