Davis, Vivian (Young)

Lois Vivian (Young) Davis, age 97, of Highland Wisconsin was led by her Savior from the loving arms of her family to her eternal Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Vivian was born on December 6, 1924 to Clarence and Fae (Goodell) Young at the family farm in rural Auburndale, Wisconsin. While attending Stratford High School, she and her brother, Norbert, boarded in town during the week away from their parents on the farm. After graduation she worked for Benson Optical in multiple Midwest locations. While stopping to assist at a car accident, she met her future husband and shortly thereafter they were led by the Lord to prepare for His ministry by attending Midwest Bible Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. There she received her degree in children's ministry. This prepared her for what God had called her to, which was raising three children of her own and teaching countless children as a pastor's wife. She married Walter Davis on August 4, 1951. Together they spent 45 years serving their Lord in seven different churches, Longville, MN; St. Charles, MN; Genoa, NE; Walworth, WI; Newburgh, IN; Osawatomie, KS; and Avoca, WI. During their time in Osawatomie, she discovered a new talent for painting while taking classes from a neighboring friend. All will miss her quick wit, grateful spirit, and servant's heart.

She is survived by her three children, Marilyn (Bill) Fellows of Harrison, AR; Clarence Davis of Atlanta, GA; and Lois (Larry) Nankey of Highland, WI, four grandchildren; Heather (Lennie) Young of Springdale, AR; Ryan (Sherri) Fellows of Bentonville, AR; Kyle (Abi) Nankey of Watertown, WI, and Kaitlyn Nankey of Oshkosh, WI, and five great grandchildren; Luci Kindall, Matt Young, Bryan Young, Jaydon Young, and Zack Fellows.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Walter Davis (2010): her parents, Clarence and Fae Young, and two brothers; Norris Young and Norbert Young.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Avoca Bible Church. Pastor Joel Bauman will be officiating with burial in the Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. A part of Mom's living legacy was the support of missionaries, Andrew and Egla Shields, as they were building cabins to house students at their Bible Institute in southern Mexico. Memorials given will go for the need of additional housing for the growing Institute and to Upland Hills Hospice who provided excellent care in her final weeks.

The McGuire-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Highland is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.houckfuneralhomes.com
