Evans, Corky E. and Eileen M. Evans

Corky E. Evans, 76, passed away at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna, WI on August 21, 2022. He was born in Dodgeville, WI, to JoAnn (Rock) and Ralph Evans.

Eileen M. Evans, 74, passed away in her home in New London, Wisconsin, on September 9, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born in Marshfield, WI, to Cecilia (Meyer) and Edward Paterick.

Corky grew up on a dairy farm outside of Dodgeville; attended St. Joseph's elementary and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1964.

As a youngster, Eileen's family spent a couple years in Colorado while her father served in the Army. They ultimately settled in Janesville, WI where she attended St. William Catholic School and graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1965.

They both met the love of their lives in spring of 1969 on a blind date arranged by Corky's cousin and Eileen's childhood friend. After months of letter writing between the two while Eileen was on a European trip and Corky in spring training, Eileen received her 100th letter with Corky's proposal. They married in January 1970 in Janesville, WI. The newlyweds started an adventurous life together while Corky played professional baseball that took them to Arizona, California and Texas. In 1978 they moved to New London, WI making their life there raising two kids, supporting them in all their activities, working in the school district, and volunteering in the community.

Corky is predeceased by his parents JoAnn (2007) and Ralph (2010), brother Joe Evans (2017) and aunt Margaret Rock (2015).

Eileen is predeceased by her parents Cecilia (2011) and Edward Paterick (2002), brother Joseph Paterick (2008), and aunt Alice Paterick.

They are survived by children Cory Evans (Catherine), Tatum Evans (Tim Magner); grandchildren Sybil and Gordon Evans; Corky's brother John Evans; Eileen's brother Tim Paterick (Barb).

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022 at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Fr. Bill Van Wagner will officiate. Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Dodgeville Veterans. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 3:40 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the church. There will be a eulogy to Corky and Eileen will be shared by their children at 3:45 p.m.
