Poad, Elizabeth Ann (Betty)

Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Poad, daughter of Gilbert and Katherine (Clauer) Bloom, was born on February 20,1936 in Mineral Point, WI and passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022 at Mineral Point Health Services. She lived her whole life in Mineral Point, graduating from Mineral Point High School in 1953.

Betty married Joseph Poad on September 7th, 1957 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mineral Point. Betty and Joe had four children: Perry, Terry, Kerrie, Geralyn.

She is survived by her children: Perry (Laura), Terry (Leda) Poad, Kerrie (Pat McReynolds), Geralyn (Ken Wallace). 11 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica (Elie Dakhoul) Poad, Dakota (Joselyn), Kane (Beth), Turner Poad, Kolbi (Kelsey) McReynolds, Chantal (TJ) Burke, Kendall (Justin Bruckner), Cierra (Tonja Hesselberg), Garret (Solvei), George Wallace. 10 great grandchildren. Siblings:
Bernetta (Marshall) Anderson, Maureen Ubersox, Gilbert (Linda) Bloom, Lee Markley and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was employed by Iowa County Farm Bureau and Rural Insurance Company until her Retirement in 1998. She then worked at Lands End for many years. Betty also volunteered her time at Mineral Point Health Services and St. Mary's/St. Paul's Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member.

She loved her Monday night dinner group and bowling with her good friends, Mary Alice Moore, Shirley Wallace, Ellie Graber, Marge Schill, Wilma Schmidt, Nancy Nelson, and many more. Betty adored spending time with her children and grandchildren, and attending their school activities. Betty enjoyed bus trips, traveling to state bowling and to new places like New York, Washington DC, Branson Missouri, Mexico and many more destinations. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Poad, sister, Marylou Markley, brother-in-laws Jack Poad and Lyle Ubersox, and sister-in-law Joan Poad.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Ss. Mary & Paul Catholic Church in Mineral Point. Fr. Michael Tarigopula will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 until 11:50 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to local charities.
