Bullian, Jerald (Jerry) Arthur
Jerald (Jerry) Arthur Bullian, 80, of Tampa, FL, went to be with his Savior on July 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born to parents, Arthur A. and Alyce D. Bullian (Schnittgrund), on April 11, 1942 in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Jerry graduated from Baraboo High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (UWSP), and is fondly remembered as a Siasefi brother at UWSP.
Prior to attending the university, Jerry spent 6 years in the US Navy as an Air Traffic Controller, serving at Pensacola, FL, and Honolulu, HI naval bases. Following his military service, he transitioned to a 24-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an air traffic controller in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Tampa: this included local union membership of the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization.
After his career in the FAA, Jerry was a restaurant proprietor in the Brandon, FL area before opening and owning a successful Nationwide Insurance Agency where he faithfully served clients across the Tampa Bay region for 25 years, retiring in 2007.
From a young age, Jerry was recognized as an outstanding musician and developed his talent to become an accomplished jazz pianist, playing professionally with bands over the years, composing music and also playing the vibraphone.
Jerry was a committed volunteer in the Tampa Bay area, notably as a weekly on-air reader for 30 years at WUSF radio reading service for the visually impaired. Additionally, he served as a board member of the North Tampa Crisis Pregnancy Center.
He and his wife, Lana, have been members of First Reformed Church in Tampa for 43 years where he served faithfully in the church choir, several ministry and missions committees, and as a Deacon and an Elder. In addition, he was a member of his local Bible Study Fellowship community group.
Jerry's most important legacy was being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son. His greatest pleasure was watching his family grow and mature.
He is survived by the love of his life, Lana (Davies), whom he married in 1967; his sister Suzanne Poeschel; sons, Aaron (Bobbie), Nathan (Kathy), and Jeremy (Vanessa); as well as granddaughters Hannah, Sophia, Emma, Abigail, Miriam and Jeraldine Bullian and Lauren Palmer. In addition, he is survived by two nephews Christopher (Nicole) Poeschel and Timothy (Linda) Poeschel and their children as well as many family friends.
