Skroch, Paul E

Paul E Skroch, of Arena, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, at the age of 63, surrounded by family.

Paul was born in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Edward and Esther (Halama) Skroch.

You knew at a young age Paul was going to be devoted to his work after fibbing about his age so he could deliver papers before school. He also talked about how he shoveled snow for the neighborhood in exchange for cookies! The family moved to Monona where Paul went to high school making many lifelong friends! He went on to do carpentry work (which he learned from his father) until he found what he loved doing with the Erdman's. He traveled the country building medical facilities for many years before settling down in the hills outside of Madison.

Paul was married to Kim (Bowman) Akins who often refers to him as "My King". Paul is survived by his wife Kim, 4 sisters, Mary (David) Owens of Stevens Point, Cheryl (Jack) McKenzie of Menominee Falls, Faye (Ken Kurek) Skroch of Milwaukee, Patricia Hayes of San Antonio, TX, 2 step daughters, Christine (Douglas) DeViney of Lone Rock, Raeann (Justin) Marten of Reedsburg, 2 "adopted" sons known as "The Pups" Andrew and Austin Schoenherr, 6 step grandchildren, Lilly, Jackson, Madyson, Alexis, Isabella and Logan, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Special thanks to his amazing friends, Reid, Merl and Ed for always being there for him. To our hospice nurse, Patricia, who always had it together, Crissy, for all his favorite soups, The Meadows assisted living and memory care for letting my daughter Raeann have all the time off she needed to be by his side, and to Raeann for being his private nurse, Doug and Justin for doing whatever needs to be done and last but certainly not least, The Ridge girls for keeping things going so I could take this time! I love you all!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Esther Skroch, Father-in-Law, Michael Bowman. Paul will be remembered for his love and respect of the woods and all who live there. To him it was so much more than just hunting. He was equally passionate about his work. He took pride in being the "on-time and under budget" guy. He always said, "it takes less time to do it right the first time rather than doing it over."

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green.
