Judd, Maynard Nathen
Maynard Nathen Judd of Dodgeville passed away peacefully in his home on April 26, 2022 at the age of 89, just 5 days short of his 90th birthday.
He was born in Monroe, WI on May 1, 1932 to Nordeen and Rose (Urben) Judd. He attended Mt Horeb High School, where he played football and baseball. He served in the US Army from 1952-1954. After returning home he married Grace V. Skogen on April 30, 1955 at East Blue Mounds Lutheran Church in Mt Horeb.
He is survived by his wife Grace: 6 daughters and 5 sons: Debra (Richard) Poad of Mineral Point; Darcy (Ronald) Zach of Dodgeville; Donna (Lance) Moen of Blanchardville; Dave (Karen) Judd of Dodgeville; Douglas (Angela) Judd of Dodgeville; Daniel (Heather Olson) Judd of Dodgeville; Deane Judd (Tricia Sporle) of Ridgeway; DeEtte (Mark) Mears of Verona; Darren Judd of Middleton; Dawn (Guy McGuire) of Lone Rock and Deann (Mike) Peterson of Barneveld.
He is also survived by 28 grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Allison, Brian, Anita, Justin, Nicole, Andrew, Katelyn, Clara, Amanda, Joseph, Kara, Emily, Aaron, Colin, Brighton, Langdon, Garrison, Shawnee, Sydney, Garret, Marissa, Alena, Lauren, Emma, Jenna and Reece, along with 30 great grandchildren.
He is further survived by 2 sisters: Doris Disch and Mavis Severson and a sister-in-law Brenda Judd along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Martin and Rosella Skogen, his brothers Darrell (Joyce), Willard (Joyce) and brothers-in-law Chester Disch and Dick Severson, Amos (Lucille) Skogen, Kermit Skogen and sister-in-law Delma Parsons.
Farming was Maynard's life. He started out in rural Mt Horeb. In 1963 he purchased a farm in rural Dodgeville. He gained many close friends throughout both communities.
He played many years for the Marty's Bar and Erfurth Haydryers ball teams in Mt. Vernon.
Throughout many years of polka dancing, Maynard and Grace met many special dancing friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Mark Williamson will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Dodgeville Veterans. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH.
The family would like to thank Upland Hills Health and Hospice Care for their support and for allowing Dad to be at home.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be made to the Dodgeville FFA or to Grace Lutheran Church of Dodgeville.
