Mercer, Evelyn C.

Evelyn C. Mercer, 80, of Lone Rock passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 due to complications of Alzheimers.

She was born November 26, 1941 to LeVern "Bob" and Helen (Yanske) Stoltz. Evelyn graduated from Spring Green High School in 1959.

While working at the Lone Rock Cafe she met her future husband, Milo Mercer, and the two were married on August 26, 1961.
Evelyn enjoyed baking, visiting the mountains, camping, and boating on the Wisconsin River. She loved riding horses, entertaining at their horse barn, country music, drinking beer, and riding ATVs.

Later in life she enjoyed being "up on the hill" at their cabin spending time with her beloved dogs, Gus and Troop. She also enjoyed get-togethers with her sister and brothers, and loved being a grandma.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Milo of Lone Rock, a son, Jeffrey (Patty) Mercer, Stitzer, a daughter, Janell (Dale) Horne, Marshall, granddaughters, Gracie Mercer (Austin Doyle), Lancaster and Haley Horne, Marshall, sister, Donna (Gary) Gorman, Lone Rock, brothers, John (Margaret) Stoltz, Rogers, North Dakota and Orville (Kandace) Stoltz, Ridgeway, special friends, Kay and Pat Werner, Lone Rock, brothers-in-law, Ken (Sharon) Mercer, Lone Rock and Jerry Mercer, Fennimore, several nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, infant grandson, Augustus Gene Mercer, and her mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Lorraine Mercer.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 21, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Firemen's Park, Lone Rock, with a luncheon starting at noon. In honor of Evelyn, everyone is requested to wear denim, if they wish. Online condolences available at  

The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green is assisting the family with the arrangements.
