Wunderlin, Dixie Lee

Dixie Lee Wunderlin, age 80, of Cottage Grove, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 1, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on July 29, 1941, in Dubuque, IA the daughter of Bill and Gerry (Millard) McReynolds. Dixie was united in marriage to Francis Wunderlin in July of 1958, in Montfort.

Dixie attended Livingston High School and worked several jobs while raising their five children. After she and Fran went their separate ways, Dixie attended Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. She moved to the Madison area in 1979 with her two youngest children and worked at Cuna Mutual Group for over 25 years. Dixie was an avid reader, loved cheering on the Packers and Badgers, along with watching her favorite show, Law and Order. Dixie adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved attending their school and sporting events.

Dixie is survived by her children; Dawn (Bill) Lee of Rewey, Todd Wunderlin of Cottage Grove, Mark Wunderlin of Dodgeville, and Renee (Craig) Stephenson of Sun Prairie, grandchildren; Travis (Rachel) Lee, Leslie (Dan) Lehman, Stevie (Carsen) Erickson, Celina Wunderlin, Ian (Jennifer) Wunderlin, Alan Wunderlin, Caleb Wunderlin, Trevor Wunderlin, and Bracken Stephenson, great-grandchildren; Harper, Maddix, and Roman Lee, Presley, Atley, and Lawson Lehman, and Jensen, Eastin, and baby Erickson, brother William "Lee" (Dee) McReynolds, and sisters; Claudia O'Brien and Jaci McReynolds, brother-in-law Richie Behnke, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, son Cory Wunderlin, sister Lana Behnke, brother-in-law Jim O'Brien, and ex-husband Fran Wunderlin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 8, 2022, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery in rural Livingston. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning. Online condolences may be made at
