David Novak, age 82, of Highland, WI, our dear husband and dad, went home to be with His Lord on Friday morning October 22, 2021, of an apparent heart attack at his home in Highland.
He was born on September 6, 1939, on the family farm on Novak Road to Archie and Lillian (Studnicka) Novak. More importantly, he was born again on June 8, 1955. Since that time, David faithfully met with the Christians that gather to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ at the Blue River Gospel Hall. It was a rare occasion if he missed a meeting.
David attended grade school at the Oakdale Country School and graduated in 1957 from Highland High School. The reason David got up every morning was to go to the farm! He thoroughly enjoyed farming-Years ago when he farmed with his grandfather and father. And, until the day of his death, with his sons and his grandchildren.
On August 23, 1963, he married Lois Epple in Aredale, Iowa. They have four children: Kelly Wenger and husband, Mark, of Brodhead, Jennifer Thomas of Montfort, Tom Novak and wife, Stacie, of Highland, and Bruce Novak and wife, Sarah, also of Highland. David is further survived by his 20 beloved grandchildren three great-grandsons, four siblings: Maxine Hassman of Muscoda, Shirley Draves of Highland, Darvin Novak and wife, Judy, of Cobb, and Janis Frazier and husband, Jim, of Blue River.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday October 26, 2021, at the Avoca Village Hall located at 401 East Wisconsin St. in Avoca, WI. A time for food and fellowship will immediately follow the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Highland Public Cemetery in Highland, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Monday October 25, 2021, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort, WI and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Avoca Village Hall on Tuesday morning.
