Jewell, June

June Jewell of Verona, Wisconsin, formerly of Dodgeville, passed away at Beehive Homes of Oregon on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the age of 87. June was born on June 22, 1934 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Russell and Blanche (Fine) Williams. She was the youngest of four children and a graduate of Dodgeville High School, where she was a majorette and Prom Queen. She married Kenneth Jewell on June 28, 1952, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, and went on to raise their four daughters. June was a loving mother, supportive wife, and an exceptional cook and baker. She devoted her life to caring for and loving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some of her favorite pastimes included shopping, crafting, going to coffee or lunch, playing cards, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends. June touched many lives and was always warm and welcoming. She always put others first and never had a harsh word to say about anyone. Even while battling Parkinson's and dementia, she was sweet to the end.

June is survived by her husband, Kenneth, her four daughters, Cathy (Dwight) Fitzimmons of Dodgeville, Chris Borne of Verona, Kim Jewell of Verona, and Camy (Jeff) Dipple of Muscatine, Iowa; five grandchildren, Carrie (Brad) Stanke, Cory Fitzsimmons, Jason Spurley, Kimberly and Kelsey Borne; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Fitzsimmons, Finley and Emersyn Spurley, and Mason and Henry Stanke as well as nieces, nephews and friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Blanche Williams, her brother Charles (Ione) Williams, and her sisters, Margaret (Cliff) Collins and Joyce (Vince) Weier, and her great-granddaughter, Kailey Stanke, all of whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville on Thursday, October 21, with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be held at East Side Cemetery following the service. Online condolences may be made at www.houckfuneralhomes.com
