Heisner, Jane P.
Jane P. Heisner, age 74 of Mineral Point passed away on September 10, 2021, at St Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI surrounded by her family.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 20, 1947, to Floyd and Ruth (Cavender) Tower. Jane called Mineral Point her home. She graduated from Providence High School in 1965 and graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton TX. She married James (Jim) Heisner on February 15th, 1969, in Dallas TX. She and Jim started farming in Esmond IL alongside her in-laws, Lloyd and Jean Heisner. In late 1979 she and Jim made their way to Waldwick WI and then on to Mineral Point where they made their home and raised their family. Jane farmed alongside Jim for many years until 1996 when she retired.
She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, canning, quilting, sewing, mending rips and tears that needed her TLC and attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events. She was active on the Iowa County Dairy Breakfast Committee for many years and served as the Iowa County Representative on the WI Milk Marketing Board. She loved sharing her knowledge of dairy farming and what it meant to her. She was an active member of Ss. Mary & Paul Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and assisted with many other activities and worked countless Town of Mineral Point Elections. She was blessed to have her children and grandchildren living close by. She always had a full cookie jar, drinks and lots of hugs for them when visiting. Jane and Jim raised 3 sons, Ben (Debi) Heisner, Adam (Amanda) Heisner, and Cyrus (Joni) Heisner all of Mineral Point. Jane was the proud Grandma of 7 grandchildren, Eric, Sara, Austin, Andrew, Emily, Lillian and Rachel.
Immediate survivors include her husband Jim, her children, and grandchildren as well as her sister, Helen (Jack) Schilling of Irving TX, her brother-in-law, Otto (Nancy) Heisner of Lindenwood IL and sister-in-law Jean Ann (Mark) Penwell of St Joe MI, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, and a nephew Christopher Heisner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Fr. Michael Tarigopula will officiate. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. A luncheon will follow services on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Ss. Mary & Paul Catholic Church "organ" and or "painting" fund.
