Dammen, Joanne C. (Enzenroth)
Joanne C. (Enzenroth) Dammen, age 86, of Mineral Point/Dodgeville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. Joanne was born on March 26, 1935 in Mineral Point to Fred and Vera (Dyer) Johnson. She married John "Jack" Enzenroth in 1952. They had six children before his death on March 22, 1973. After a long loving relationship that started in 1976, Joanne married Sherman Dammen of Dodgeville on March 17, 1997. Joanne enjoyed cooking and she cooked for many area restaurants, UW Students and the nursing home in Verona. Together, she and Sherman were extremely active in the service work of AA Fellowship, making a difference in countless lives. They enjoyed RV travel and camping which took them to all 48 continental states along with being Campsite Hosts at Governor Dodge State Park and Brigham Park for many years. Their RV adventures also took them to Lake Worth, FL for many winters. Her greatest joys were time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren and her pets.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Enzenroth; her parents; six siblings, Darold Johnson; Charmaine (Fritz) Weitzel; James Johnson; Janis (Jack) Amenda; Jack (Shirley) Johnson and Gary (Ruth Wendtlandt) Johnson; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Johnson, a brother-in-law, Douglas Grunow and daughter-in-law Becky Enzenroth.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Sherman of Dodgeville; her six children, Greg (Suzanne Kostreva) Enzenroth of Nekoosa; Kim (Dawn) Enzenroth of Wauwatosa; Victoria (Tim) Gile of Addison, IL; Doug (Lynda) Enzenroth of Dodgeville; Rick (Michelle) Enzenroth of Madison and Craig (Lori) Enzenroth of Mt. Horeb; Sherman's five children, Larry (Kaye) of Argyle; Connie (Larry) Anderson of Dodgeville; Cathy Dammen of Grapevine, TX; Cindy Dammen of Baraboo; Carla Alexander of Boaz; 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Johnson and Kenneth (Ruth) Johnson, both of Mineral Point; a sister, Carole Grunow of Madison; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Johnson of Madison and Elaine Burmeister of Verona; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom (JoAnne) was loved by everyone and cherished by all!!!
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 9, 2021 at Twin Valley Picnic Shelter at Governor Dodge State Park.
Inurnment will be in the Yellowstone Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the: JoAnne and Sherman Dammen Memorial Fund at the Iowa County Humane Society which would be greatly appreciated.
