Wicks (Nichols), Michelle R.
Michelle R. Wicks (Nichols), age 59, of Cobb, left this world suddenly on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home in Cobb. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and good friend to many.
Michelle was born January 15, 1962 to Charles and Ann Nichols. She grew up in Linden and graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1980.
Consistent with her compassionate nature, Michelle spent her lifetime caring for others. She operated an in-home daycare, worked for many years with the elderly as a CNA in nursing and rehabilitation centers, and most recently provided home care services to disabled adults.
For those she loved most, Michelle was a pillar of strength, support, and humor. Her commitment to family was selfless; her love for her kids and grandchildren was endless. She was at her happiest when surrounded by her family. She cherished the time spent with her kids and grandkids. Michelle's spontaneous and sometimes bizarre sense of humor brought much laughter to family gatherings. The party never really started until she arrived and she never failed to disappoint with some off the wall comment that had others laughing and shaking their head all at the same time.
Michelle is survived by her children Nicole (Thad) Weiss of Hill City, SD, Kyle Wicks of Ridgeway, Kaci Wicks of Platteville, and Kali (Josh) Draves of Highland; her grandchildren Braden, Tray, and Brealyn Weiss, Bryler, Brayson, and Brixton Draves; her siblings Al Nichols of Linden, Jody (Randy) Kitelinger of Linden and Kendra (John) Hohlstein of Delton, FL; her step-mother Linda Nichols of Linden; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Nichols and Ann Nichols; and brother Rick Rice.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5 2021 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Pastor Douglas Tremelling will officiate. Burial will be held in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
