Pierce, June Eva Rae

June Eva Rae Pierce, age 90, of Dodgeville, WI, passed away in her sleep, on Monday, June 21, 2021.

June lived in Port Edwards, WI, until moving to Crestridge Assisted Living, approximately 6 years ago, in Dodgeville, WI.

June was born on April 24, 1931, to Albert H. and Eva Rae (Clark) Nieman, in Stevens Point, WI. After graduating from PJ Jacobs H.S., she worked as a Bookkeeper.

On Nov. 20, 1950, June married Edward John Pierce; who was also born and raised in Stevens Point. They had 2 children: Jeffrey D. Pierce (Mary) of Dodgeville, WI and Marsha K. (Russ) Draeger of Marshfield, WI.

Most of June's working career was spent at Sears Roebuck in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Upon her retirement in the early 90's, June spent time travelling with her husband in this country, and also traveling abroad with her son's family. She visited Alaska, and the countries of: Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Turkey, and Israel.

June also enjoyed sewing; knitting; spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and writing letters to the Wisconsin Daily Tribune regarding Christian solutions to the problems of this world and the salvation of man's soul, found in the Bible. She sent "good news" articles to friends, family, aquaintances and mail-order companies.

June was predeceased by: Her parents Albert H. And Eva Rae Nieman; Her brothers: Clark, Deo, Raymond (Jack), and Albert, Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Cain (husband Lynn), Midland, TX.

June has 8 grandchildren: Jason (Maria) Pierce; Benjamin (Caitlin) Pierce; Joshua (Amber) Draeger; Wren (David) Fowler; Vanessa Pierce; Nicholas (Cory) Pierce; Nicole (Kory) Sparling; and Jameson Draeger.

Her greatgrandchildren are: Dimitrios, Melina, Natalie, Gavin, Emma, Eddie, Henry James, Maddie, and Violet Pierce; Judah, Jerico, and Julian Fowler; Miranda and Paisley Sparling; and Logan Draeger.

The family wishes to commend the staff of Crestridge Assisted Living; and Upland Hills Hospice; for their loving care.

On Sunday, July 11, 2021, following worship, a light luncheon will be served at noon, at EDMUND EV. FREE CHURCH, 2537 US Hwy. 18, Edmund, WI. At 2:00 pm, a Memorial Service for June will follow; Pastor Doug Tremelling officiating.

A Memorial Gathering will also be held on Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 am, at the SPENCER CHURCH OF CHRIST, 211571 State Highway 13, Spencer, WI. Meal to follow.
