Fama C. Rule, age 91, of Dodgeville, beloved wife of Elmer Rule, passed away peacefully to join him once again on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Fama was born on April 6, 1930 in Eden Township to Arthur and Bertha (Fingerson) Heuer. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 1948 at Cobb High School. Fama married Elmer Rule of the Bloomfield area on July 14, 1951. The couple farmed and raised cattle in the Bloomfield Area. Fama also worked at Farmers Savings Bank in Edmund for many years. Elmer preceded her in death on April 20, 2001. She was a dedicated member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cobb where she was the organist for many years.
Fama will be remembered for many things, but above all her devotion to God and to family. She lived her life with quiet grace, intelligence, compassion and unending stoicism. Her gracious and kind approach to life in her final days can be a lesson for all.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Geneva (Ron) Chafin and a sister-in-law, Sandra "Sonnie" Heuer.
Fama is survived by her loving children, Steve Rule of Dodgeville; two daughters, Nancy Rule of Seattle, WA and Barbara (Ron) Osborn of Burnsville, MN; her brother, Arthur Heuer of Cobb as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 17, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cobb. Pastor Ramona Orton will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or Upland Hills Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
