Johnsen, Loren Milton
Loren Milton Johnsen, age 89, of Cobb, WI, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Upland Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dodgeville. He was born on March 16, 1932, at home in Eden Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin. Loren was united in marriage to Mildred Jacobson on November 21, 1953, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Edmund.
Loren graduated from Cobb High School and attended UW Farm and Industry Short Course in Madison. He returned home and followed his passion, dairy farming. He loved working with his registered dairy cattle and continued farming until 2012. He and Mildred enjoyed traveling together especially to New York and going out west. Loren also liked watching sports and movies, was an avid reader, and enjoyed music. An active 4-Her and FFA member in his youth, Loren continued to support his children and grandchildren in these youth organizations. He was a lifelong member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Cobb. Loren's passion for farming, optimistic attitude, and his enjoyment of conversation with family and friends will be forever cherished.
Loren is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mildred, of Cobb, two children; Larry (Denise) Johnsen of Cobb, Paula (Bob) Daentl of Edmund, son-in-law, Mitch Munson of Livingston, three grandsons, four granddaughters, and nine great grandchildren along with one on the way, and his sister, Faye Ann Reed, of Winnebago, IL.
Loren was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Munson, and brother-in-law, Bob Reed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Cobb with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery in rural Livingston. Mike Mueller will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Loren Johnsen. If attending services for Loren, the wearing of masks would be preferred.
