Kobbervig, Raymond Dean

Raymond Dean Kobbervig of Payson, AZ, formerly of Dodgeville, WI passed away on February 2, 2021. Dean was born November 18, 1935 in Dodgeville, WI to Marie (Coffey) and Raymond Kobbervig. He attended Dodgeville High School and graduated with an Engineering degree from the University of Platteville.
Dean has built many roads around the state of Wisconsin, working for G. A. Watson Consolidated Construction, Dodgeville and Mann Brothers, Elkhorn, WI. He also worked with R.G. Huston Company for many years. He was an early-adopter of technology throughout his eight-plus decades, embracing the latest tools and incorporating them into his personal and work activities. Dean also took great pleasure from owning and operating Dean's Arctic Sales in Dodgeville from 1972-1976. Among his many interests, Dean inherited a passion for woodworking from his father and spent many hours crafting decorative and useful items that he shared with his family and community.
Dean is survived by his loving partner of 19 years, Barbara Dieckmann. He will be greatly missed by his children, Mike (Ivy) Kobbervig of Brodhead, WI, Kathy (Mike) McCutchin of Janesville, WI, Cindy (Steve) Karstaedt of Beloit, WI, David Kobbervig of Hanoi, Vietnam, Barbara's children Tanya (Alex) Herrara, Livermore, CA and Michell (Phil) Combs, Phoenix, AZ. He is further survived by his sister Mary Stein of Madison, WI, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with a new great-grandchild arriving in April 2021. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Catherine, sister Ann Kobbervig, brother-in-law James Stein, and many beloved aunts and uncles. In keeping with Dean's wishes, private family celebrations will be held at a later date in Arizona and Wisconsin.
