Audrey Halverson, age 92, of Arena/Dodgeville died peacefully Sunday, October 4, 2020. She was born June 24, 1928, to George and Hazel Schwartz. She married Marvin Halverson August 9, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before Marvin's death in 2018. They lived north of Dodgeville where she enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking for their family. Audrey was very active in 4H and the Commission on Aging as well as other community organizations. After retirement, they spent winters in Casa Grande, AZ until moving to Arena. Audrey was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Schwartz, and her sister Agnes Bennett
Audrey is survived by six children, Jean Halverson of Dodgeville; Vern (Evy) of Arena; Nancy (Philip) Wertz of Iowa City; Lois Kinlen of Madison; John (Roxy Johnson) of Arena and Dennis (Judi) of Dodgeville; ten grandchildren, Dionne, Rebecca, Traci, Angie (Carl), Nick (Roxanne), Henry, Jocelyn (Nate), Jeff (Kelly), Chris (Kate), and Kailey; 13 great grandchildren, Clay, Gage, Indigo, Calla, Trenton, Max, Caleb, Cassius, Teddy, Perrie, Bennett, Evan and Cole; and her brother Emmett Schwartz as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
Private family services will be held at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville with Pastor Mike Steinke officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
