Treweek, William (Bill)
William (Bill) Treweek, age 83, Dodgeville, died on April 27, 2020, after suffering a sudden and severe stroke. Born on September 4, 1936, Bill was the much loved son of Parker Treweek and Ruth Peterson Treweek and grew up on a farm that is now part of Governor Dodge State Park.
His early education was at the Gold Mine School. He was a graduate of Dodgeville High School and went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in agriculture education from UW-Platteville. While attending college, Bill discovered a lifelong interest in the collection and selling of antiques. Restoring primitive antique furniture became one of his passions, and he was exceptionally skilled. After his mother suffered a stroke that left her bedridden, Bill was her primary caregiver. With Bill's care, she lived out her life in her own home.
Bill made many longtime friends from Dodgeville and throughout the country, including neighbors, antique lovers, his lunch crowd, fellow mole hunters, and gardeners.
The burial will take place at a future date when it is safe for family and friends to come together as a group to celebrate Bill's life.
The family thanks the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home.
Bill loved Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) and was a proud supporter; donations to WPT in Bill's name would be welcome.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father and leaves behind his sister Linda, brother-in-law Bob, nephew Jeff (and partner Sherry), nieces April, Cindy and Pam, grandnephew Devon, and grandniece Caitlin (and husband Nick). Bill had a grand run, an exciting run, a fun run, and a charmed run. He lived life on his own terms. He will be greatly missed.
