Munson, Dean L.
Dean L. Munson, age 85, of Livingston passed away peacefully early Monday morning May 4, 2020 on the way to dialysis in Platteville with his son Doug by his side.
He was born on October 8, 1934 the youngest child of Clarence and Verna (Gundlach) Munson. He graduated from Livingston High School President of his class in 1952. He was united in marriage to Beverly Nelson on April 2, 1955 at the Castle Rock Lutheran Church. Upon moving to Livingston, they joined the Livingston United Methodist Church. Dean and Bev celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in 2020.
Dean began his working life farming with his dad. His later employment included Montfort Butcher Shop, Livingston Creamery, John Deere, and Nelson Muffler. He retired from building and maintenance at Lands End after 23 years. He enjoyed the simple things in life, hunting, trout fishing, gardening, playing cards at Alley Oop's, and at card club. Dean made the best pickles ever and gave them away by the gallons. He loved to share his produce! His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life. He and Bev were great great great uncle and aunt to Jacob and Cole Solomon's sons, and Nick Egger's son.
Dean is survived by his beloved wife Beverly of Livingston, daughter Denise (Bob Myers) of Livingston, son Doug (Laurie Hines-Munson) of Montfort, nine grandchildren; Jamie, Jason, Justin Myers, Alicia (Kite) Milestone, Austin, Casey and Morgan Hines-Munson, Josh Munson and Tonia (Munson) Andre, 11 great grandchildren; Garrett and Hunter Myers, Brynn, Addy and Myah Milestone, Kenadie, Gabby, and Owen Munson, Emilyn and Carsten Bonow, Jackson Andre, sister-in-law Marlin Nelson and many nephews, nieces and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Kite, son David Munson, parents, three brothers; Harold, Wendell and Lyle, and three sisters; Alma, Marilyn and Gwen.
A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday May 12, 2020 at the Rock Church Cemetery rural Livingston. A Celebration of Dean's Life will be held at a later date at the Livingston United Methodist Church with food and fellowship to follow.
