Lorraine Drews, age 86, of Highland, died on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Upland Hills Health NRC in Dodgeville. She was born on September 19, 1933 to Lester and Mildred (Crook) Anderson in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Lorraine grew up on a farm in rural Dodgeville and graduated from Dodgeville High School. She earned her Rural Education certification in 1953, Bachelor of Science in 1961, and Master's Degree from UW Platteville. Lorraine had a long career as an elementary school teacher and supervised student teachers as a Master Teacher. Most of her career was spent teaching at Highland schools from 1964 until her retirement in 2002. She met her husband, Norman Drews, at a Christian Endeavor youth group. They were married June 8, 1955 at Standart Primitive Methodist Church. They farmed together in the Highland area and Lorraine continued living on the farm until her death. She attended Avoca Bible Church and enjoyed Bible study, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, Lester & Mildred Anderson; sister, Dorothy (Carl) Hoveland, and in-laws Louie and Irene (Kennedy) Drews.
Lorraine is survived by a daughter, Doreen Drews of Dodgeville; son, David (Maria) Drews of Muscoda; three grandchildren, Brian (Mary) Drews and Jeffrey (Savannah) Drews, both of Muscoda and Emily Drews of Shimada, Japan; four great grandchildren, Carter, Nora, Ezra and Rory Drews as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Avoca Bible Church. Pastor Joel Bauman will officiate with burial in the Avoca Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
Funeral services will also be Livestreamed on Avoca Bible Church facebook page at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 and will be available for viewing at avocabiblechurch.com later on Saturday. The McGuire-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Highland is serving the family.

Memorials given in Lorraine's honor are appreciated in lieu of flowers. She supported Christian radio, Peoria Rescue Mission, and Avoca Bible Church. Lorraine's family would like to thank Dr. Hartline, Dr. Arbaje, Dr. O'Mahar, and the staff of Upland Hills Health and NRC for their care and support.
