Aide, Clifford J.
Clifford J. Aide, age 84, of Highland, joined his wife, Margaret in Heaven on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Clifford was born on June 21, 1935 to Jack and Edna (Edwards) Aide. Following graduation from Highland High School in 1954, Clifford served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until 1959. On June 23, 1956, he married his High School Sweetheart and his Homecoming Queen, Margaret Shields. After returning from the Air Force, they farmed near Highland until retiring in 2005. They lived then in Montfort before returning to Highland. Margaret preceded him in death on June 26, 2016. Clifford enjoyed gambling, playing euchre and solitaire, sight-seeing, John Deere tractors and watching Gunsmoke and W.W.E.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Margaret's parents, George and Eva Shields; a brother, Bob Aide and a sister-in-law, Helen (Harvey) Trebian.
Clifford is survived by six children, Debbie Korb; Susan (Dennis) Welsh; Mark (Margo); Dan; Theresa Aide and Michael (Diane) Aide; ten grandchildren, Joshua (Tonya); Jeremiah (Kaycee); Rebecca (Curtis); Matt (Kim); Hunter; Benjamin; Bryce; Trinity (Brandon); Ryan and Kaylee (Justin) eight great grandchildren, Braden; Jace; Braelyn; Kinley; Kane; Tristan; Reese and Kaden; his siblings, Bonnie Leigh (Jack) O'Flahrity; Donna Rae (Earl) Welsh; Bill (Janet) Aide; Rita (Dave) Dorota and Ronnie (Dianne) Aide; two sisters-in-law, Donna O'Kroley and Karen (LeRoy) Rickli; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2020 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland. Fr. Jim Murphy will celebrate with burial in St. Philip's Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday after 10:00 a.m. The McGuire-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Highland is serving the family.
