Kramer, Robert C. "Bob"

Robert C. "Bob" Kramer, age 89, of Durango, Iowa formerly of Cobb, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday February 13, 2020 at his residence in Durango, Iowa. He was born on November 27, 1930 on the family farm in Eden Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin the son of Harry and Edna (Leix) Kramer. He was united in marriage to Doris Allen on April 12, 1955 until her death on July 16, 2000. Bob married Ruth Leslein in November of 2001 and moved to Durango, Iowa.
Bob attended the Hazel Dell School through 8th grade and graduated from Montfort High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and purchased a farm outside of Cobb following his honorable discharge. Bob sold his dairy herd in the late 1980's but continued to work the land for several more years and took great pride in his straight rows of corn and well maintained fences. Bob slowly transitioned out of farming as he dedicated progressively more of his time to care for Doris over many years of her declining health. Bob appreciated his community and enjoyed hosting the community picnic. He had a creative mind and seemed to be able to fix almost everything. A great day for Bob was one spent outside wearing out another pair of work boots and going to bed exhausted. He found a passion for woodworking in his later years and was proud of the creations he and Ruth turned into endless gifts for their friends and family. Bob was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Cobb, Cobb American Legion, a Mason and volunteered many years for the Cobb Corn Boil. Bob will be remembered for his humor, gentle demeanor and being a hard and humble worker. His dedication to his family and extended family will forever be cherished.
