Busser, Judith Ada Westphal
Judith Ada Westphal Busser, age 73, of Barneveld, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born Nov.5, 1946, to Adelbert Donald Lake and Beatrice (Johnson) Lake in Geneva, Ill. She attended school in Lily Lake, Ill.
She married Clarence Westphal on March 11, 1961, in Creston, Ill. They had three children: Donald (Diana) Westphal of Monroe, Wis., Barbara (Michael) Jeglum of Mount Horeb, Wis. and Kenneth (Lori) Westphal of Worland, Wyo.
Judith had many jobs over the years. She worked at The Farm Restaurant in Wasco Ill., Dekalb County Nursing Home, and also in JCPenney's shoe department in Dekalb, Ill. In 1977 they moved to Wisconsin.
They lived in Darlington until 1979 and then moved to Blanchardville. While living in Blanchardville, Judith made a lot of friends. They lived in Blanchardville until 1987. She worked at Zim's Cheese, Argyle Industries and Ingleside Nursing Home until they moved to Baraboo in 1989. Judith moved back to Blanchardville in 1991 after Clarence passed away. Then, in June 1995, she married Walter Busser. During this time, she worked at Orion Optical in Madison, at VIP's in Hollandale bartending and waitressing, and also at Humana Insurance until she retired so she could take care of Walter. When Walter passed away in 2014, she moved to Barneveld where she joined Barneveld Lutheran Church. There she made many friends. She loved helping at church and other people. Judith was a member of the VFW and had many hobbies: crocheting, reading, doing puzzle books, playing cards and taking Ruby to church so they could go for breakfast. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Judith is survived by her children; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six stepchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews that she loved so very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1991; and husband, Walter, in 2014; her parents; and two sisters, Adela, at six months, and Janet Medernach on Nov. 7, 2019. and her special dog, Dora, who she loved very much and will rest peacefully by her side.
A funeral service will be held at BARNEVELD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 505 Swiss Lane, Barneveld, on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon following the service. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be held at York Memorial Cemetery in Blanchardville.
