Betty Welsh, age 85, of Highland, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Crestridge Assisted Living following a brief illness. Betty was born on September 2, 1934 in Stitzer to Wesley and Ruby (Becker) Fry and was a 1952 graduate of Fennimore High School. She married Keith Welsh on May 23, 1964 and they owned and operated K-J Farms near Muscoda. Betty was a member of Hickory Grove Church near Fennimore. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening and growing flowers in her yard. She loved Beagles and enjoyed the company of many of them over the years. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and traveling with her sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith on June 5, 2008; a daughter, Gail Richardson; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Welsh; a brother, Keith Fry and a sister, Marlene Skaife.
Betty is survived by two sons, Kevin Welsh of Farmville, VA and Jeffrey Welsh of Madison; a daughter, Jayne (Sydney) Carter of Highland; six grandchildren, Amanda (Alan) Wells; Kimberly (Dylan) Frazier; Keaton (Trisha Moll) Welsh; Chase (Heidi) Welsh; Matthew (Bridget) Carter and Nicole Bettner; 11 great grandchildren, Tessa, Jerome and Evan Bettner; Madelyn, Olivia and Lily Wells; Tyler and Colson Frazier; Kayle and Bentley and Cashton Carter; two sisters, Lenice Gilbertson of Highland and Peggy (Galen) Freymiller of Fennimore; a brother, Stanley (Jane) Fry of Fairport, NY; a brother-in-law, Jack Skaife of Madison as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Highland. Pastor Mark Kufahl will officiate with burial in the Highland Cemetery.
