Panther boys give Fennimore a test

Iowa-Grant's boys basketball team did not beat Fennimore in their SWAL make-up Saturday but they sure made things interesting for 36 minutes.
The Golden Eagles pulled away at the end for a 77-64 win but not before the Panthers held an early lead and stayed close until Fennimore pulled away.
Reid Larson led the Eagles with 29 points with his 16 second half markers causing the most damage. He had six three pointers for the game, three each half.
"We had a hand in his face but he still got loose for a trio of three pointers, all in a row," said Iowa-Grant coach Ryan Hill.
Adam Larson netted 21 with 11 coming the second half for the Eagles and Kellen Kenney finished the double figure trifecta with 17.
"We played pretty good defense but those three are very hard to hold down," said Hill. "We were able to keep it within 10 most of the second half until the end when they pulled away."
The Panthers also had three players in double figures led by 19 from Cobb Hubbard. Isaac Hill also shot the three ball well, ending up with four and totaling 15 points. Michael Winders added 11 to complete the I-G trifecta of double figure scorers.
"We had the lead early and did a good job against a very talented team," Hill added.
"Michael Winders did a good job finding the open person and had a lot of assists," Hill said. "Isaac found the range from three point land and Cobb turned in a solid performance. We also got a couple big threes from Kruz Kitelinger off the bench."
"It was nice to see us bounce back from a tough loss with Boscobel and play really well," said Hill.
