By Levi Zimmerman The Iowa-Grant girls basketball team picked up a big conference win Tuesday night with a 42-34 win over Southwestern at home. It was a game of defense that culmionated in a down-to-the-wire finish. Iowa-Grant out-scored Southwestern 22-19 in the first half and 20-15 in the second. Junior Adrianna Jelle led the Panthers with 12 points, including making four-of-four free throw attempts. Sophomore Briann Kohlenberg followed closely with 11 points, and she went three-for-four from the line. As a team, Iowa-Grant went 11-for-16 from the free throw line. Southwestern was able to stay in the game with three-point shooting. In fact, the Wildcats made more threes than twos, as they made six threes and five twos. Iowa-Grant improved to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in the SWAL with the victory. The Panthers will visit Mineral Point this Friday in more conference play.
