Set 3: 19-25, Platteville
Set 4: 25-15 Dodgeville
Set 5: 11-15, Platteville
"Not the outcome we had hoped for, but it was an excellent match and a very exciting night of volleyball," said Dodgers coach Nicole Hottmann. "The level of play was high throughout; the volleys were long and competitive with great offense and great defense played on both sides of the net."
Sophomore Lucy Heimerl led the Dodgers with aces serving up two and added 12 digs defensively.
"Lucy also helped us tremendously on serve receive," added Hottmann.
"Olivia Argall led us with six block kills and Anna Ruhland contributed in that area as well with three block kills," said Hottmann. "Anna's offensive game was huge for us with 14 attack kills, followed by Olivia Argall with 12 attack kills. JoJo Heimerl played a solid match all the way around, with eight attack kills, two block kills, nine digs and an ace. Olivia Argall led us with 27 assists. Marley Busch also had a well-rounded match with eight assists, two block kills, and five attack kills."
Hottmann had this to say about her team's final match of Covid 2020.
"I am so proud of this team's effort this season. The Covid season sure gave us a ton of obstacles to work around, but this team pushed forward through them all. They played with confidence and poise - keeping their composure out on the court. They played together as a group - winning and losing together, taking it all in stride.. never pointing fingers. These ladies have a high volleyball IQ coupled with a tremendous amount of athleticism which allowed us to compete at a high level. Above all else, this team is made up of great leaders - both on and off the court. These ladies played with more heart than most teams are even capable of... playing with and battling through injuries, battling back after a shut-down mid-season, always playing with an attitude of "mind over matter." They walk in the gym to get the job done. Words could never describe how proud of them I am, or how grateful I am to have had this season with them. We will miss this group of seniors beyond measure."
